Minimal Risk Consultancy Ltd (MCR) requires professional, flexible and adaptable individuals to join a standby list, in order to augment an already established Security Training and Mentoring team. Personnel would be deployed following a request from the client to uplift the current level of personnel, for short to medium lengths of time.
This is to support the Security Commander in managing daily security operations, liaising with the General Services Unit (GSU) personnel, and ensuring the implementation of security protocols and training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in daily liaison with GSU and BHC Security Team.
· Support training delivery and mentoring of GSU officers.
· Participate in patrols, inspections, and emergency response coordination.
· Ensure radio checks and security drills are conducted.
· Provide backup for the Security Commander during absences & leave rotations.
· Maintain accurate records of GSU activities and secure payment accountability.
· Support administrative duties and reporting as required by the Regional Security Advisor (RSA).
· Any other individual/team ad-hock security duties that may arise, as directed by the RSA or client representative
General:
· Establish a working relationship with the General Services Unit (GSU) allocated to the British High Commission (BHC) and other BHC sites as required.
· Provide the daily liaison link between the GSU and the BHC Security team.
• Conduct GSU daily/nightly (as required) meeting with Team Leader and visit all mission GSU sites weekly.
• Provide GSU induction training for new team members posted to the mission.
• Provide Realistic and relevant training to the GSU officers at the British High Commission (BHC) within the confines of the Human Rights Act.
• Conduct regular patrols and searches within the BHC.
• Ensure radio checks are carried out at the BHC by GSU officers.
• Provide Support within in emergencies, including Armed Incursions, Direct/Indirect Fire Attacks, and Bomb alerts at the BHC.
• Low profile visible security during working hours (covering both internal compound and buildings at the BHC (Monday – Friday).
• Mission security meetings with RSA.
• Attended various security meetings and advisory walk rounds with RSA.
• Agree whatever reasonable and appropriate additional measures the RSA or Authority’s Representative deems necessary in order to protect the BHC’s assets.
Oversight of static security:
• Detect & report sightings of suspicious activities, objects or persons in and around the BHC.
Training:
• Annual security lockdown refresher drills for BHC staff.
• Practice Mission lock down drills with Staff Members, RSA and Security teams.
• Practice Mission fire drill with Staff members, Health & Safety Team, RSA & Security Teams.
• Weapon competencies to include live firing range work to be completed at least every 6 months and ideally every 3 months where possible.
Miscellaneous:
• After hours building inspection for window/door security.
• Out of hours & weekend building door unlock/lock for pre-cleared, working staff.
• Support of the BHC security team on operations at the Gitanga complex.
• Administration and accountability for GSU mobile patrols during security uplift at the BHC.
• Produce, collect and record Daily GSU signatures to provide accountability of weekly secure payments.
• Medical First Responder emergencies for BHC staff and their visitors.
• Any other individual/team ad-hock security duties that may arise, as directed by the RSA or the Authority’s Representative.
Terms & Conditions:
· Circa £49,000 per annum
· Accommodation provided within the BHC Compound
· Flights will be provided at Economy class to UK & overseas destinations of choice (within a fixed budget) while on leave
· Rotation is 8 weeks in country and 4 weeks on leave
· Insurance for travel to and from each location, in country personal accident & illness cover while at work and emergency treatment.
· Death in Service Benefit x1 Annual Salary.
